New members of this Association come across a vast and sometimes confusing array of committees, public initiatives, professional expectations, and opportunities across the province and beyond, by virtue of their new status as RCCs. How and where does one get started?
The Board of Directors of BCACC has understood the difficulties that non-familiarity with “what’s out there” can present. There is so much to learn and potential to be explored in this Association, but up to now, there has been no formal mechanism in place to facilitate this. Accordingly, the Board has taken steps to support and inform new RCCs about what BCACC is about. This is taking the form of a one-day “Member Orientation Workshop.” This training event will run from 9:00 am to 2:30-3:00 pm and is designed to intriduce new members to the Association, its structure, the regulatory function of BCACC, and ethical decision-making. Attendance is free of charge, but advance registration is required. All materials, together with refreshments and a light lunch, will be provided. Although it is beneficial for new members to attend this workshop in person, it is also available online for those who are unable to do so. Click here for the online version.
The Board expects all new RCCs to attend the workshop within two years of joining the Association. By attending this event, you will gain a better understanding of what it means to be a Registered Clinical Counsellor, and tap into a wide network of support. All members are welcome to attend; preference is given to new members and first-time attendees.
Upcoming locations and dates (all Saturdays) are shown below and are subject to change. NOTE: Email/fax reminders will be sent prior to the workshops providing detailed registration information. If you have any questions regarding these workshops, please contact BCACC’s head office.
