About Zoë
Relationships are complicated. They are also an important factor in our happiness and our wellbeing.
When there are challenges in your relationship(s) with your intimate partner, friend, siblings, aging parents, colleagues, or yourself, it can feel confusing, lonely, hopeless, and frustrating. Stress in your relationships can keep you awake at night, and preoccupy you during the day. Addressing interpersonal conflict can relieve your stress and foster feelings of connection, belonging and understanding.
Stress in relationships can lead to feelings of depression, anxiety, isolation, anger and powerlessness. These feelings can lead us to unhealthy coping strategies, self harm, social withdrawal/anxiety, depression, problematic substance use and other unhelpful behaviours. Addressing coping strategies and developing helpful ones can help you feel better.
I use an integrated approach that draws on your strengths and evolves to fit your needs as we uncover them. I work from a trauma-informed lens, and tend to lean into attachment theory, adlerian theory, EFT (emotionally-focused therapy), CBT and mindfulness interventions, and the development of collaborative conflict resolution skills.
I am an instructor and coach in the Centre for Conflict Resolution at the Justice Institute of BC, and am Gottman Level II and EFT certified.
