Brief Solution-Focused Therapy: The Mindset & Skillset presented by Claire Sutton, M.A., RCC, CEAP
In this fast-paced era of on-going change and economic uncertainty, our work, as clinical practitioners, is often brief and solution-focused. To do this work exceptionally well, a particular mindset and skillset is required.
What you will learn:
Many counsellors and therapists find themselves with limited sessions available to work with clients. These limited sessions could be due to financial constraints; session limits from extended health benefits or EAP services; large case loads; etc.
Learning to work effectively in the brief solution-focused model is paramount today. In this engaging and interactive workshop, participants will come to understand the mindset to embrace, the parameters to set, and the skills needed when working in the brief solution-focused model.
- how to build immediate trust with a client;
- to formalize a session;
- to conduct a comprehensive assessment;
- to work from a whole life approach;
- to ask power questions;
- from case study reviews
- …and more
