Supervision and Consultation Available
Lower Fraser Valley

As a senior counsellor and psychotherapist, I am now in a position to offer clinical consultation and supervision to counsellors and students in the art and practice of counselling.  As a writer and wordsmith, I offer my services as a copy editor and proof-reader.  With 28 years in private practice and a life long integral relationship to C.G. Jung’s Depth Psychology, I have a wealth of experience and hard won wisdom to draw upon.

Serving the Lower Fraser Valley in private practice since 1983, I have worked with children, individual adults, couples and families in a wide range of human difficulties using expressive therapies and collaborative dialogue.  While my primary orientation and affinity is Jungian, my operational style is eclectic, humanistic, and practical.  Matters to do with the courts or with custody and access reports are now outside my scope of practice.

Unfortunately practicum and internship placements cannot be accommodated.

Clinical Supervision and Consultancy – Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast

I offer supervision to practicing Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I have over 20 years experience of working as a Clinical Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Supervisor in private practice and the Voluntary sector. For 10 years I was tutor on Masters programs in Gestalt, Integrative and Person Centered Psychotherapy in the UK. I specialized in teaching Research on these programs and was visiting tutor for Gestalt Psychotherapy programs in Norway and Malta. Alongside teaching on the Masters I ran a Diploma course in Clinical supervision. This course was for qualified Counsellors, Psychotherapists, Psychologists and practitioners working with the helping professions.

My Integrative relational approach to supervision views the relationship between Supervisor and Therapist as being of primary importance in providing good and effective supervision. We will create a new narrative together that is aimed at facilitating your work with clients; this narrative can be deconstructed and reconstructed in the ongoing process of supervision.

I offer face to face, telephone and Skype supervision.

Clinical Supervision and Internship Seekers

Feb 10 – Mar 14 – Practicum Supervisors Needed – Lower Mainland & Fraser Valley

Dear Colleagues,

Are you or your agency interested in supervising a Master’s-level practicum student?  We are looking for sites interested in taking our students May 2012, September 2012, January 2013 and beyond.

The Adler School of Professional Psychology is a graduate level professional school with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program.  We have the privilege of partnering with many community agencies and private practitioners throughout the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley and beyond to provide high quality training experiences for our students.  Please note that while the Adler School recognizes and greatly appreciates the commitment of practicum supervisors, neither practicum supervisors nor practicum students are paid for their involvement in the practicum experience.  We have found that supervisors typically choose to supervise a student due to their desire to participate in the mentoring and training of a student and to offer a lower cost service option to their clientele.

Depending on the nature of your practice or agency, you would have the option to support one of the following:
1)         A primary practicum – students are required to complete 200 hours of direct client contact and a total of 700 hours practicum experience.
2)         A secondary practicum – typically 20-50 client contact hours, as students are obtaining training to supplement a primary practicum.

If you are interested in talking further about the possibility of partnering to accept Adler practicum students, please contact me at mmandrusiak@adler.edu or 604-482-5525.  Thank you for your interest and thanks to all of you who already do such great work with our students.

Sincerely,

Michael Mandrusiak, Psy.D., R.Psych.
