Nominations for BCACC Board of Directors, Regional Council Chairs and Advisory Council

Thank you for taking the time to consider applying for one of these important volunteer opportunities with BCACC.  Without the hard work and dedication of our volunteers, BCACC would not have grown to be a membership of almost 4000.

Consider leaving your mark in BCACC history by bringing your ideas and energy to our team of volunteers.

 

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION:  The deadline for submission of both nominee packages and nominator forms will be 5:00 p.m., May 23, 2018.  

 

Regional Council Chair – formerly Regional Vice-President (3 positions)

Are you interested in building a cohesive and engaged community of Registered Clinical Counsellors in your region? Do you have ideas for professional development opportunities? Do you enjoy working collaboratively with other counsellors?

Regional Council Chairs work with a Regional Council to plan and coordinate events, with support from BCACC Head Office staff. As well, they sit on the new Advisory Council which provides input and feedback from members at large to the Board.

Three positions for Regional Chair are available – Region 3 (Interior South), Region 4 (Lower Mainland Northwest) and Region 6 (Interior North)

Advisory Council – Second Seat

Bringing forward the interests and concerns of the membership to the Board of Directors, Advisory Council members serve as representatives for the membership at large.

This new Council provides input and feedback from members to the Board, as well as discussing emerging trends to watch for in the profession of counselling . Each Region will have two representatives:  the Regional Council Chair for each region, plus one member from the region for a second seat.

Six Advisory Council Member positions are available –  one per region (Regions 1 – 6)

Director, Board of Directors

Do you have an interest in contributing to the growth of the Association at a governance level?  Do you have past experience with board, committee or regional leadership work? Are you interested in collaborating on a “big picture view” of the Association’s future?

Five Director positions available – With current incumbents, up to five additional positions are open to meet the range of 9 to 12 Directors.

Please note:  Upon taking office, the Director should be prepared to sign a Board Annual Declaration form and a Code of Board Conduct.

 

Am I eligible to apply for a volunteer role with BCACC?

  • Only members in good standing may be nominated, stand for election or be appointed to the Board of Directors or other positions.
  • Members may only nominate or second one candidate for a position on the Board.
  • If you have a complaint with BCACC, you must complete your consent agreement with the Inquiry Committee prior to seeking nomination to any BCACC position.

 

Deadlines and Process

The deadline for submission of both nominee packages and nominator forms will be 5:00 p.m., May 23, 2018.  Submit to nominations@bc-counsellors.org as per the instructions on the forms.

If any elections are required, ballots will be circulated electronically on May 25, 2018, with returns due by June 8, 2018, 14 days following distribution of the ballots.

The final slate, as recommended by the Nominations Committee, will be presented at the Annual General Meeting on June 15, 2018.
