About Heather
Hi I’m Heather – I work with people to help figure out what is at the root of their distress, and tackle any rising issues head-on, drawing on a variety of modalities. I hold a Master’s in Counselling Psychology, am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BCACC, and have worked in the counselling field for many years. I have worked with children, adolescents, families, adults, and individuals within the criminal justice system. Outside of private practice I work as a clinical coordinator for community mental health for those with moderate to severe diagnoses, and previously worked within forensic and correctional settings. I am an expert in treating people with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and supporting people during difficult life transitions. I specialize with online therapy, offering sessions in the evenings.
Searching for a therapist often means you have a challenge in your life or within yourself you are trying to overcome. I would describe myself as an ‘active’ therapist meaning not only will I be using therapeutic skills, but I will be teaching you, challenging you, validating your experiences, asking questions, suggesting ideas, and of course holding this all within a safe space. I encourage you to come to session with questions, ideas, and opinions. Ask me questions just as much as I ask you questions. I want to ensure you are getting the best support possible.
