About Laura
My therapy style is strength-based, collaborative, and rooted in trust and compassion. My approach is both evidence-based and tailored to your unique needs. Most of my training and experience has been in Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and anxiety-related disorders, having worked for several years in an OCD speciality clinic.
I am also experienced supporting individuals with depression, grief and loss, which I developed through the Survivor Support Program in Toronto, and with Dragonstone Counselling in Vancouver.
I draw on a variety of treatments, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behaviour therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and solution-focused therapy.
I provide Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy with Exposure Response prevention, which is the first line treatment for OCD. In June 2018, I attended the Behavioural Therapy Training Institute in New York, studying the latest evidence-based care for adults with OCD.
I enjoy working with culturally diverse populations, and being an immigrant, I find that I am particularly effective at connecting with these groups.
