About Mary

* Currently accepting New Client.
Mary is a Registered Clinical Counsellor since 2002 with BCACC. Mary understands that life is no perfect and challenges are along the way. With the belief that everyone has potential to thrive, her compassion, positive attitudes and over 20 years of counselling experiences have brought great commitment to her counselling career.

Mary believes that therapy is a time to reflect, identify, learn, regroup, self-care and heal, with the ultimate goal to achieve a better quality of life.

Having been providing counselling in non-profit organization, schools and EAP, and working with immigrants, refugees and international students for the past many years, adapting a culturally sensitive, client-centred and trauma-informed approach is essential in her work. Mary serves children, youth and adults with emotional, behavioural, relational, parenting and trauma issues. Her treatment approaches are based on Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, EMDR, Family of Origin, Play Therapy and Attachment Theory.

Mary also works with ICBC clients and WorkBC clients.

Mary has provided over 100 workshops and psycho-educational groups (e.g. Changeways). She has published “CBT – Does it work well with Chinese population in Vancouver?” on Visions BC’s Mental Health and Additions Journal and is the recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Award.

Mary provides counselling services in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
Mary welcomes workshop presentations opportunities.
