______ January 2021 Update ______

Thank you for your interest in connecting. I am not accepting new clients at this time. Contact me if you wish to be added to the wait-list. Stay safe everyone!

Hello, I’m Skylar.

Due to COVID I offer outdoor sessions, with occasional phone, until further notice. For more info, please visit my website.

My approach is integrative, strengths-based and collaborative. I tailor approaches to suit each client’s unique needs. As a trauma-informed therapist with a holistic lens, I consider a person’s mind, body, spirit, and emotions in the healing process. Somatic psychotherapy is a holistic therapeutic approach that considers the body to be a healing resource, thus, mind-body practices complement traditional talk therapy. I can also include mindful, narrative, emotion-focused, expressive/ arts-based, and solution-focused techniques.

Above all, I respect that you are the expert of your own life. It is important that you find our work together useful. I will check in with you to see how the process is going so we can course correct as needed.

People seek counselling for a wide range of reasons. It is not uncommon to experience periods of depression and anxiety; these are natural responses as we grow and make changes in our lives. Sometimes we require extra support due to feeling perplexed, overwhelmed, or simply stuck in a rut. Counselling is often about personal growth and working to gain a clearer sense of what you need or want from life.

For some, counselling is sought after a traumatic event or an unexpected change in life that has caused distress and uncertainty. Other times we may need to deal with an on-going situation that has become a source of constant stress. Whatever the situation, we will work together to make sense of what is happening and find a way to move forward.

I have over two decades of experience providing individual, group, and team support and engaging in community organizing; I am dedicated to creating safer spaces for people of all communities, bodies, and backgrounds.
